Common FAQs about hiring Webmasters from Agents of Value

1. What programming languages are Agents of Value programmers familiar with?
All of our programmers are experts with PHP, MySQL, and Javascript. Additionally, some developers have experience with .NET, C#, Visual C++, ASP.NET, Java, Ruby, and Python.

2. Do your developers have experience developing with web application frameworks?
Yes, many of our developers have experience using CakePHP and CodeIgniter. We recommend using such a framework for any new development project. Using a framework will save a lot of time, as it frees a developer from worrying about many application basics, like session handling, user authentication, data sanitization, and error handling. This will make the code more secure against hacking attempts. Also, using a framework leads to a more organized code structure. This will help if you ever need to turn over the project to another developer, or add more developers to your team.

3. Are your developers able to develop applications using cloud servers?
We love using cloud servers for application development. Our developers have experience using SliceHost, Amazon Web Services, and RackSpace Cloud Servers. All provide a great platform to develop on, though we have a slight preference for RackSpace, as they provide great service and chat based support.

Many of our web developers have experience doing Linux based system administration, and are able to configure cloud servers for production usage.

4. Can your programmers create Facebook applications?
Yes, our developers have actually created several extremely popular Facebook applications. If you’re interested in outsourcing Facebook application development, get in touch with us, and we can discuss your project in more detail.

5. Can you show examples of any applications your developers have created?
Many of our applications were developed as outsourcing partners for our clients, however we can show off a few applications that we’ve developed for our own purposes. Checkout Agent Guardian, a remote work monitoring software, used by hundreds of remote workers every day. As of Summer 2011, it’s tracked nearly 1 million hours of work. Also, check out Generic Domain Finder. It’s an application that helps domainers find valuable domain names that have not yet been registered. It uses a number of back end APIs for keyword research and checking domain name availability. In addition, we developed a custom domain appraisal system.
