Graphic design is the process of planning, designing and creating visual messages that convey the company’s mission, services or products to its targeted audience. Letters, images such as animation and sound effects are used to present the information on the web.

Graphic designers are responsible for the images on the site like the logo, banner, visual web tools like icons and navigation bars, foreground and/or background design of the site, and Flash animation. Proprietary software such as the Adobe Creative Suite are perfect for web designers. However, not everyone has the money to fund such a venture, especially when you need licenses for everyone in the team. As an alternative, many graphic designer and web designers have turned to using Open Source software that can deliver the same quality output as the paid ones.
